Hi, I'm Kate
I'm the designer and maker behind Ink & Impact. I make little things that make everyday moments feel special, and I help small businesses look like they mean it.
My story
A bit about me
I've worked in design and marketing for years, including time at a larger marketing and design company. These days I work for myself, and Ink & Impact is where it all lives: design work for small businesses, a shop of pieces I engrave, print and put together myself, and custom orders for weddings, parties and everyday gifts.
Because I come from design, I care about the small stuff: the font, the spacing, how a piece feels in your hand. Everything is made and packed by me in Leduc, Alberta.
I'm also a mom to little ones, so I pick my pop-ups carefully for now. You can always find my pieces online, and I'm happy to set up a time if you want to see something in person.

How I think about making things

Less really is more
Anyone can add more. Knowing what to take away is the whole job.

Clear beats clever
If people can't tell what something is or what to do next, the design isn't working.
3.
The details are the point
When the spacing is right, nobody notices it. That's exactly the goal.

Make it useful
I want everything I make to be something you actually use, give or keep.
